Work 01 / Game-engine film
Proxy of Control
A public seat becomes a courtroom.
Proxy of Control follows the moral gaze that an East Asian train turns on a body it has decided is not tired enough to sit. The priority seat becomes a courtroom with no judge — only a carriage of strangers, each enforcing an expectation nobody wrote down, and the way that pressure finishes its work from the inside long after anyone is still looking.
The film is built entirely inside a real-time game engine and shot in VR, moving the camera through a virtual environment the way a director moves through a set. It sits between machinima, animation and cinema — a form that lets an interior state become architecture the viewer can travel through, rather than a scene observed from outside it.
Authorship
The work is authored end to end — concept, script, direction, environment, camera, edit and original music are all mine. The only element I did not perform is the characters’ spoken dialogue, which uses AI-generated voices; everything that carries the film’s emotion and argument is made directly.
Recognition
Proxy of Control won the Digital Film award at the Fortune Art Award (2026) and was selected as a semi-finalist in the Experimental category of the Dumbo Film Festival (2026). It premieres on NOWNESS Asia.
